Zamalek defender Omar Gaber confident of victory against Pyramids in final of Egypt Cup

Zamalek right-back Omar Gaber has expressed optimism in the team’s chances of lifting the 2025 Egypt Cup.

Zamalek will face off with Pyramids FC on Thursday, June 5, in the final of the Egypt Cup at the Cairo International Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the game, Omar Gaber said Zamalek players are determined to win the final to clinch the trophy.

“We’re looking forward to winning the cup because it’s a very important tournament at the end of the season. We had hoped to win more titles than that. There has been an improvement in performance over the course of the matches under Al-Ramadi’s leadership, and we thank him for teaching us football skills that Zamalek had been ignoring in the recent period,” Omar Gaber said in a pre-match interview.

He continued: “The players are intensely focused on winning to please the fans. We know that this season hasn’t been our best, and we have a chance at the end of the season to please the fans.”

“We talk to each other as players about winning the championship. We know that Pyramids is a respectable competitor with a good group of players, and we respect them greatly. However, Zamalek plays any final match in the presence of the fans to achieve victory and win the title, and we will fight to win the title.”

The final of the 2025 Egypt Cup is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 pm.
