Trabzonspor reach agreement with AS Saint-Étienne to sign Moroccan midfielder Benjamin Bouchouari

Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor have reached an agreement with French outfit AS Saint-Étienne for the signing of Moroccan midfielder Benjamin Bouchouari.

According to Foot Mercato, Trabzonspor will pay €4 million plus €1 million in bonuses for the 23-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract with Saint-Étienne.

The Ligue 2 club had been eager to cash in on the Moroccan youth international this summer, with interest also coming from La Liga side Girona.

However, the closure of the Spanish transfer window on Monday left Trabzonspor with a clear path to complete the deal.

Bouchouari is expected to travel to Turkey today to undergo his medical before finalising the move.

The midfielder departs Saint-Étienne after making 96 appearances across France’s top two divisions since joining from Dutch side Roda JC Kerkrade in 2022.

He also represented Morocco at the Paris Olympics last summer, where he helped the team secure a bronze medal.
