Simba SC part ways with coach Dimitar Pantev after setback in the CAF Champions League

Simba SC have made sweeping technical changes this morning, parting ways with head coach Dimitar Pantev and his two assistants immediately after the team returned from Mali.

The decision followed their 2–1 defeat to Stade Malien in the CAF Champions League, a result that deepened concerns about the club’s recent performances on the continent. Club leadership moved quickly, signalling a new direction as they look to restore belief within the squad and among supporters.

In the interim, Riedoh Berdien will work alongside Coach Matola to guide the team while the search for a new permanent head coach gets underway. Their task is made even more urgent by Simba’s domestic situation, with the club currently sitting 7th in the 2025–26 Tanzanian Premier League table with four outstanding games.

Attention now turns to the team’s upcoming fixtures, starting with their next league match against Mbeya City, a test that comes at a delicate moment in the season. Simba are entering a crucial phase, and with new leadership on the touchline, all eyes will be on how the players respond and what direction the club takes from here.
