Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen close to €30m agreement for Franco-Ivorian defender Loïc Badé
Sevilla are nearing an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of Franco-Ivorian defender Loïc Badé, with talks now at an advanced stage.
The 25-year-old centre-back, who remains under contract with the Andalusian club until June 2029, has been the subject of significant interest this summer.
Inter Milan had been hopeful of finalising a deal before the close of the window, but Leverkusen now appear to have moved into pole position.
Negotiations between the German champions and Sevilla have been progressing in recent days. According to reports, Leverkusen have already reached personal terms with the player and are working to resolve the final financial details with Sevilla.
The fee is expected to be around €30 million, a figure that remains the last obstacle before the transfer can be confirmed.
Should the agreement be completed, Badé is set to sign a five-year deal with Leverkusen, keeping him at the club until 2030.
The move would represent a major step in his career, joining a side that has established itself as one of the strongest in the Bundesliga.
While Leverkusen lead the race, other European clubs have also shown strong interest. Liverpool and Aston Villa in the Premier League, along with Borussia Dortmund in Germany, have all monitored the situation closely. However, unless there is a late twist, Badé’s future now seems tied to Leverkusen.
For Sevilla, the potential deal marks a significant transfer decision. Badé, who earns an annual salary of just over €4 million, has been an important figure in their defence but is now on the verge of a move that could provide the club with a sizeable financial boost.
The French-born defender of Ivorian heritage has steadily built a reputation as a commanding presence at the back, combining physical strength with composure on the ball. His performances have not gone unnoticed, and Leverkusen see him as a valuable reinforcement to their squad.
Unless there is an unexpected change of direction, Badé is expected to complete his switch in the coming days, bringing an end to speculation over his future.
The deal, once finalised, will rank among the most notable defensive transfers of this window.
