Saudi Arabia's PIF increase bid to sign Morocco forward Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has reportedly stepped up its pursuit of Moroccan international Brahim Diaz, increasing its offer in a fresh attempt to lure the Real Madrid midfielder to the Saudi Pro League.

Spanish outlet OkDiario reports that PIF is prepared to table a package worth €120 million over four years, equating to €30 million per season, as part of a renewed bid to make Diaz one of the marquee names in the league.

The 25-year-old is said to have turned down a €100 million proposal last summer to remain in Madrid.

Despite the growing interest from Saudi officials, Diaz is believed to be keen on continuing his career at the Bernabéu, even though talks regarding a contract extension until 2030 have yet to be finalised.

His campaign in Spain has been somewhat subdued. Though he has featured in 15 of Real Madrid’s 18 matches across competitions, he has started only four times under head coach Xabi Alonso.

In total, the attacking midfielder has racked up 442 minutes of playing time and is yet to complete a full match this season.

Diaz, who committed his international future to Morocco earlier this year after previously being eligible for Spain, remains an important figure for the Atlas Lions.

He is expected to play a leading role at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on December 21 in Morocco.

Reflecting on his national team allegiance, Diaz previously stated he never pushed to play for Spain, adding: “I speak on the field; it is where you excel and accumulate merit.”
