Romanian side CFR Cluj target Morocco winger Hakim Ziyech
Romanian giants CFR Cluj have turned their attention to Moroccan playmaker Hakim Ziyech as their next marquee signing.
According to multiple reports, the Transylvanian club are in talks with the 32-year-old winger, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Qatari side Al Duhail.
The pursuit of Ziyech is being spearheaded by recruitment advisor Mikaël Silvestre, who previously helped bring in Islam Slimani and Marcus Coco, together with club president Ioan Varga.
Ziyech, who has also drawn interest from his former club Ajax Amsterdam, has requested a few days to consult with his family before making a final decision.
Cluj hope their ambitious project, which has already attracted several experienced internationals, will convince the ex-Chelsea and Morocco star to commit.
Valued at around €4.5 million, Ziyech boasts an accomplished career in European football, with standout spells at Ajax and Chelsea before his stint in Qatar.
His potential arrival would mark another major coup for Cluj as they look to assemble a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
