Pyramids FC coach Krunoslav Jurcic announce squad for CAF Champions League clash against Rwandan Army

Pyramids FC coach Krunoslav Jurcic has announced his squad for the CAF Champions League preliminary round clash against Rwandan army, including fit-again Morocco international in the team.

Walid El Karti missed Pyramids games against Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia in the Intercontinental Cup and Tala’ea El Gaish in the Egyptian League due to an adductor injury.

Having gain full fitness, the Croatian gaffer Karti in the squad for the trip to Rwanda on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Moroccan midfielder is one of Pyramids’ key players this season, having scored three goals in five matches, in addition to scoring two goals against Al Ahly in the Egyptian League and one against Auckland.

Pyramids FC will be without goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy for technical reasons on their trip to Rwanda, along with winger Ramadan Sobhi, who is not fit due to knee pain.

Jurčić also ruled out his player Osama Galal due to a torn hamstring, while the coach received a major boost with the return of his distinguished defender Mahmoud Marei after recovering from an injury to his internal knee ligament that kept him out of the team’s recent matches.

Marai will travel with the squad, but his participation remains highly uncertain due to the match being played on artificial turf, which can negatively impact knee injuries in general.

Pyramids FC won the CAF Champions League title last season under the leadership of Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić, after defeating South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the final in May.

With this title, Pyramids FC has secured its participation in the Club World Cup, which will be held in 2029, alongside Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia, the Asian champion, and Paris Saint-Germain of France, the European champions.
