Nigeria star Victor Osimhen marks injury return for Galatasaray in stalemate against Fenerbahce

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen marked his return from injury for Galatasaray in their Turkish Super Lig clash against Fenerbahce.

Osimhen, who missed the sides previous two games through injury returned to action on Monday night as his outfit played out a 1-1 draw in a high-stake league clash, held at the Ülker Stadium.

The former Napoli stars showed flashes of his sharpness throughout the encounter, though his night ended on a frustrating note when he received a booking in the 71st minute for a clumsy challenge. He was eventually substituted for Mauro Icardi just moments before full-time.

The stalemate at the Ülker Stadium leaves the Turkish Super Lig title race finely balanced. Galatasaray remain top of the table, but their lead over second-placed Fenerbahçe has now been cut to just one point.

Osimhen has been outstanding since making a permanent switch to the Turkish giants, scoring three goals in 10 league appearances. In all competitions, the talented forward has racked up nine goals in 13 matches across competitions.

Having returned to full fitness, he is expected to play a huge role for Galatasaray as they seeks to make a meaningful impact in the current campaign.

Meanwhile, he is join the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the upcoming 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Morocco between December 2025 and January 2026.
