Nigeria international Fisayo Dele Bashiru marked his return from injury for Lazio in their Italian Serie A defeat to AC Milan.

Dele Bashiru made substitute appearance as his outfit succumbed to a narrow defeat on Saturday. He was introduced in the 62nd-minute, marking his return to action after almost three months absence.

The 24-year-old midfielder had been out of action since early September after picking up an injury in the opening minutes of the Derby della Capitale loss to Roma. His spell on the sidelines kept him away from both club and country duties, making his return refreshing for both Lazio and the Super Eagles at large.

Despite the result, Dele Bashiru’s comeback adds momentum to his season, especially with AFCON 2025 in Morocco fast approaching.

Having impressed on the international stage before his injury, he is widely expected to feature in the Super Eagles squad for the tournament next month.

This season, the midfielder has been limited to just five appearances in the Serie A for Lazio. Having returned, he will be hoping to feature regularly for the Italian outfit.
