Moroccan Throne Cup: Mouine Chaabani eyes treble triumph with RS Berkane

Mouine Chaabani, head coach of RS Berkane, anticipates a fierce clash with Egypt’s Pyramids FC in the CAF Super Cup, set for Saturday at the Air Defense Stadium.

Chaabani remarked during the pre-match press conference that this contest is more than just a game, it is “one of the most important football fixtures on the continent. Any player or coach would be proud to take part in such a special event. The Super Cup is a unique trophy that means a great deal to everyone involved.”

He praised Pyramids FC and called them a “remarkable team” following their recent triumph in the “Champion of Three Continents” title, even describing them as “champions of half the world.” Nevertheless, Chaabani stressed Berkane’s “vast experience in continental competition” and said the squad is ready for a high-stakes battle.

Despite missing several players, Chaabani believes in his available lineup, stressing that “everyone is prepared to represent Berkane honorably.” He pointed out that although Pyramids’ home advantage may be significant, the lack of a massive fan following offers a small boost for Berkane.

Reflecting on past face-offs with Egyptian clubs, Chaabani dismissed the idea that prior results can predict what happens here: “Every match has its story.” Ahead of the crucial contest, he declared, “We are ready and will fight for the title and for the happiness of our fans.”
