Paris FC monitoring Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed amid transfer uncertainty

Mostafa Mohamed has opened up about his turbulent time at Nantes and why he chose to remain with the French side.

The Egyptian striker did not hold back when reflecting on his past struggles, especially under former coach Antoine Kombouare.

“Antoine Kombouare was the worst coach I had ever worked with,” he told Ouest-France.

“If Kombouare had stayed at Nantes, I would have left. I’m someone who needs to feel confident, and when coach Luis Castro arrived, I immediately felt he had confidence in me, so I decided to stay.”

For Mohamed, trust and belief made all the difference.

“The reason I stayed at Nantes is because of Luis Castro, who told me he trusted me and that we could help each other,” he added.

He explained his choice was personal, not limited by options.

“My agent received a number of offers, but I rejected them all when they officially arrived at the club because I’m very happy here and don’t want to leave.”

With renewed optimism, he promised more.

“You will see this year that Nantes will not be competing for survival, but rather for European qualification.”
