Morocco’s Brahim Diaz scores first goal of the season in Real Madrid’s big win against Kairat Almaty
Moroccan forward Brahim Diaz netted his first goal of the 2025/26 football season on Tuesday evening, helping Real Madrid to brush aside Kairat Almaty in the UEFA Champions League.
The winger started the game from the bench but came on in the second half to replace Brazilian attacker Vinicius Junior in the 70th minute.
He made an instant impact, sealing Madrid’s dominant performance with a clinical finish in stoppage time after latching onto a pass from Gonzalo Garcia.
By then, Kylian Mbappe had already stolen the spotlight with a sensational hat-trick. The Frenchman converted a penalty in the 25th minute, chipped home a delightful second in the 52nd, and completed his treble with a precise strike from the edge of the box in the 73rd minute.
Eduardo Camavinga also got on the scoresheet, heading home in the 83rd minute after being set up by Rodrygo.
Diaz’s late strike not only rounded off the scoring but also marked his first goal of the campaign.
After getting his first goal of the season, the forward is expected to be motivated heading into the upcoming matches in the season.
He is likely to be included in Morocco’s squad for the October international break.
