Morocco star Hakim Ziyech set for sensational Wydad AC switch

Moroccan football heavyweights, Wydad Casablanca, have reached an agreement to secure the signature of former Chelsea star, Hakim Ziyech.

Without a club since terminating his contract with Al-Duhail last summer, Ziyech is now set for a new chapter in the North African country.

The former Ajax and Chelsea star is joining the Moroccan football heavyweight as a free agent, as he embark on a career relaunching mission in his native country.

After several approaches, Ziyech has fully agreed to join Wydad AC and is expected to play a huge role for the side in the current campaign.

Initially, Ziyech came close to joining Romanian giants CFR Cluj, but the deal faltered due to huge salary demands.

Having won the race to sign Ziyech, the Moroccan giants will in the coming days confirm the acquisition of the highly-rated attacker.

With the World Cup and AFCON fast approaching, the enterprising winger will be hoping to prove his worth domestic ally and in international competition as he seeks for a return to the Morocco national team.

Ziyech has struggled to earn a place in Walid Regragui’s squad in recent times, having failed to play actively. His sensational switch to Wydad AC gives him the opportunity to fight to his return to the Atlas Lions squad.
