Montpellier President Rules Out Emmanuel Adebayor Move

Just days after rumors of a potential Emmanuel Adebayor move surfaced, Montpellier president Louis “Loulou” Nicollin has firmly denied any interest. Speaking to RMC, Nicollin said:

“It’s nonsense, there was never any question of him signing with us. What’s more, he’s going to play in the African Cup of Nations (January 14–February 5), so that would be stupid. We don’t give a damn about Adebayor, that’s it.”

The Togolese striker, who has been a free agent since leaving Crystal Palace last June, has been linked with clubs in Spain, China, and Qatar over the past week. For now, Adebayor’s focus remains solely on the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
