Ivory Coast defender Wilfried Singo sidelined for one-two months with injury

Ivory Coast international Wilfried Singo is facing one to two months absence on the sidelines following an injury setback in the Turkish top-flight.

Singo, who joined Galatasaray in the summer was forced off with an injury in the 40th-minute mark as cruised to victory over Gençlerbirliği.

The former Monaco defender has been diagnosed with a grade 2C tear, accompanied by bleeding in his left posterior muscle group. Singo has already begun his rehabilitation and is expected to be out of action for one to two months.

Singo has been battling injuries since joining Galatasaray from Monaco in the summer. He was initially sidelined for a month after picking up an injury against Besiktas.

The 24-year-old centre-back has made seven appearances in the Turkish top-flight this season, delivering an assist in the process.

The Ivory Coast international’s current contract with Galatasaray runs until summer 2030.

Meanwhile, the recent setback come as a huge blow for the Ivory Coast national team, who are gearing up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco between December 2025 to January 2026.
