Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande attracts interest from Liverpool
Ivory Coast international Ousmane Diomande has emerged as a top transfer target for Premier League giants, Liverpool.
The 21-year-old, who plies his trade for Sporting CP has attracted a lot of interest including Crystal Palace and Liverpool following his outstanding performance.
However, Liverpool, who are desperate to secure the signature of the Ivory Coast international has already scouted Diomande and sees him as a player who can fit in well at the club under manager Arne Slot.
Currently, Liverpool are making enquiries about the possibility of signing the defender in the January window, or wait until summer.
Diomande joined Sporting from Midtjylland in 2023 for €14.5 million and has since become a defensive leader, playing 103 matches for the club, scoring 6 goals and providing 2 assists.
His current contract with the Portuguese side runs until 2027 and it is unknown whether Sporting CP will sanction a move for the defender.
