Ismaïla Sarr climbs Senegal’s top scorers list as Ousmane Sow emerges from the shadows

Senegal’s top forwards continued to make headlines across Europe this week, with Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr surging up the scoring charts and Ousmane Sow breaking into the elite ranks for the first time.

After more than two months of competitive football, the latest update of Senegal’s leading goal-getters abroad shows both familiar faces and surprise climbers.

Veteran striker Mbaye Diagne retains his position at the summit with 10 goals for Turkish side Amed SK, despite failing to find the net this week.

Close behind him is Middlesbrough’s Kaly Sène, who also endured a quiet spell but remains on eight goals.

The main movement came from Belgium, where RFC Liège forward Oumar Diouf struck twice to move level with Sène, intensifying the chase for top spot.

In one of the week’s biggest stories, Ismaïla Sarr’s brace in the Carabao Cup helped Crystal Palace progress and lifted him from ninth to sixth in the rankings.

His recent performances suggest a return to form and confidence for the 26-year-old, who has battled through an inconsistent spell in England’s top flight.

Meanwhile, Ousmane Sow of Polish club Gornik Zabrze is rapidly establishing himself as a name to remember.

The 24-year-old striker, described by analysts as a dark horse earlier in the season, enters the Top 10 for the first time after an impressive run of goals.

His sharp finishing and relentless movement have earned him plaudits in Poland’s Ekstraklasa.

Sadio Mané, however, drops out of the Top 10 this week following a quiet spell in front of goal. His place is taken by Sow, whose momentum continues to grow as the season unfolds.

Other notable names in the rankings include Fabrice Tamba of Shkendija, who remains consistent with seven goals, and Abdallah Gning of Karvina, who matches Sarr’s tally with six.

Samsunspor’s Chérif Ndiaye, Schalke 04 defender Christian Gomis, and SFC Opava’s El Hadji Ndiaye round out the list, each on five goals.
