“Have confidence in yourself”: Adebayor’s nice message to the Eperviers before the Comoros
Although absent from Togo’s training camp for the 2022 World Cup preliminaries, Emmanuel Adebayor remains a staunch supporter of the Sparrowhawks. The former captain, who retired last March after 19 years at the top level, sent an encouraging message to his national teammates ahead of their second-leg clash against Comoros in Lomé.
“With all our hearts with the Togo Sparrowhawks for tonight’s match. Trust yourselves, and the rest will be fine. Victory belongs to you,” Adebayor wrote on his Twitter account. The former Real Madrid striker, now at Kayserispor, continues to follow the team closely and maintains a strong bond with the squad.
Earlier, the Togolese Football Federation shared a personal message from Adebayor to coach Claude Le Roy and the players. “I wanted to go through you to convey this message to my young brothers: I am deeply convinced of their determination to win this afternoon and to give joy to our supporters, whether they are inside or outside the country,” he said.
Adebayor added, “For my part, I never doubted your ability and determination. I truly wish you from the bottom of my heart a good match and, above all, good luck.”
Togo enters this decisive match after a 1-1 draw in the first leg, aiming to secure qualification for the next stage of the World Cup preliminaries. Adebayor’s words serve as both motivation and reassurance for the team as they prepare to face Comoros at home.
