Fit-again Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru back in Lazio’s Serie A squad
Lazio have welcomed Fisayo Dele-Bashiru back into their Serie A squad after the Nigerian midfielder recovered from the muscle injury that sidelined him earlier in the season.
The 24-year-old had been omitted from the club’s league roster following a bicep femoris issue sustained during September’s fiery Rome derby against AS Roma.
With his fitness restored, Dele-Bashiru is once again eligible for selection. His return comes with a corresponding change, as full-back Elseid Hysaj has been removed from the squad to create space for the former Sheffield Wednesday man.
Lazio were cautious in reaching the decision, mindful that the midfielder is widely expected to make Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. His name has also surfaced in transfer speculation ahead of the January window.
Dele-Bashiru has made four league appearances under Maurizio Sarri this season and is anticipated to be involved when Lazio take on AC Milan in their upcoming Serie A fixture.
