Fenerbahce are eyeing a move for France international of Algerian descent Karim Benzema as the winter transfer window approaches.

The Turkish giants has been inconsistent since the commencement of the 2025/26 football campaign, leading to the sacking of seasoned coach Jose Mourinho.

Ahead of the January window, Fenerbahce have set sights on augmenting their squad with experience players, with the former Real Madrid star emerging as a top transfer target.

Fenerbahce are said to be monitoring Benzema, who is in the final year of his contract at Al Ittihad. The Saudi Arabian giants risk losing Benzema for free next summer.

The Turkish giants will now capitalize on the forward’s expiring contract to facilitate his signing in the winter window. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce could push for a summer move for the experienced forward if they are unable to sign him in January.

Benzema joined Al-Ittihad in 2023 on a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid expired. The forward has already played 66 matches for Ittihad, scoring 41 goals and providing 17 assists.
