FC Metz secure signing of Senegal defender Fado Ballo-Touré

Senegal international Fado Ballo-Touré has completed a move to French Ligue 1 outfit FC Metz.

The 28-year-old joins Metz as a free agent following his departure from fellow French outfit Le Havre at the expiration of his contract.

Ballo-Touré spent the second half of last season at Le Havre AC, playing an instrumental role for the club’s Ligue 1 survival.

The AC Milan and AS Monaco defender Ballo-Touré made 10 appearances over the course of his six-month stint in the Normand region.

During that spell, he contributed to Les Ciel et Marines retaining their place in Ligue 1. He was one of several players to arrive on short-term deals before then departing upon the expiry of their deals.

On the lookout for a new club throughout the summer, Ballo-Touré has now landed at Metz, following the closure of the transfer window.

The left-back has signed a deal with Les Grenats that runs until the end of the season, with an extension option being included in the contract.

After three games in Ligue 1, Metz are the only side yet to register their first point.
