Egyptian Belal Attia invited for Bundesliga trial with Hannover

Belal Attia, the promising Egyptian midfielder, has received an invitation from German club Hannover for a trial, following his impressive displays at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations and the U17 World Cup.

Hannover’s scouting team provided a strong recommendation after closely monitoring the 17-year-old’s performances, prompting the club to offer him a chance to train at their facilities.

This is not Attia’s first European opportunity. Earlier this year, Stuttgart invited him to their academy for a trial in August.

Although he impressed, he did not sign, leaving the door open for new opportunities.

The invitation from Hannover highlights the growing interest from European clubs in the versatile Egyptian midfielder.

Born on 1 January 2008, Attia has quickly established himself as one of Al Ahly’s most promising talents.

His adaptability allows him to excel in multiple positions on the pitch. At the U17 World Cup in Qatar, he played as a defensive midfielder when Egypt was reduced to 10 men against Venezuela, disrupting the opposition’s play and shielding his defense effectively.

Against Chile, he earned the man-of-the-match award with a goal and an assist, while providing key support in attack for teammates Hamza Abdelkarim and Mohamed Hamad.

Attia’s technical skill, intelligence in tight spaces, and pressing ability make him a standout player despite his modest stature of 1.70m.

He has already contributed 8 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances for the Egyptian U17 national team, including a hat-trick against Libya during the FIFA international window in November 2024.

His versatility allows him to function as a link between defense and attack, making him a pivotal figure in both offensive build-up and defensive transitions.

The Hannover trial offers Attia a valuable opportunity to develop his game in a competitive European environment, potentially opening the door for a professional career in Germany’s Bundesliga.

Clubs across Europe continue to monitor his progress, recognizing him as one of Egypt’s brightest young prospects.
