Dutch-Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee scores to inspire Manchester Utd to beat Crystal Palace 2-1

Dutch-Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee found the net on Sunday to help Manchester United overturn a first-half deficit and secure a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Jean-Philippe Mateta fired a clinical penalty low into the right corner, leaving goalkeeper Senne Lammens with no chance.

Despite pushing to get back into the game after going down, Manchester United failed to find the net before the break.

United drew level in the 54th minute through Zirkzee. Bruno Fernandes delivered a delightful free-kick into the box, and the striker controlled well before guiding his effort into the bottom-right corner to make it 1-1.

The turnaround was complete just nine minutes later. Fernandes once again orchestrated the move, feeding Mason Mount, who unleashed a superb strike from the edge of the box into the bottom-left corner.

Manchester United held firm for the remainder of the match, with Zirkzee’s equaliser proving crucial in a hard-fought comeback victory.
