Dutch-Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee agrees AS Roma move
Dutch-Nigerian forward Joshua Zirkzee is closing in on a move to AS Roma after reportedly giving his approval for a return to Serie A.
The out-of-form striker, who has struggled to make an impact during his 18 months in the Premier League, is expected to leave Manchester United as the club assesses Roma’s latest proposal.
It is understood that the move will be a loan deal with an option to buy, which becomes compulsory should the Giallorossi secure Champions League qualification.
Zirkzee, a former Bologna standout, is said to be enthusiastic about reuniting with Gian Piero Gasperini. The Roma manager has long admired the attacker, having previously identified him as a key target during his spell at Atalanta.
In parallel with the Zirkzee pursuit, Roma’s sporting director Ricky Massara is also keeping tabs on another attacking prospect.
Midtjylland’s in-form striker Franculino, who has netted 19 goals this season, will be in action at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.
Valued at around €40 million, the Guinean forward is attracting attention across Europe and is likewise on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar.
