Algeria Announces 23-Man Squad for 2017 AFCON

Algeria coach Georges Leekens has revealed his final squad for the 2017 African Cup of Nations. Notable absences include captain Carl Medjani and vice-captain Sofiane Feghouli, marking a strong decision by the Belgian coach. Riyad Mahrez will lead the attack, carrying the hopes of the nation.

Leekens selected nine defenders and six midfielders, including the impressive inclusion of Ramy Bensebaini. OL’s Rachid Ghezzal makes the squad, while Ishak Belfodil (Standard Liège) and Saadi (Kortrijk) did not make the final cut.
