CAN 2016 Women: Onome Ebi – “The Title of Course”

Nigeria Prepares for Tough Challenge Against Cameroon in Women’s AFCON Final

Nigeria’s defender Onome Ebi is fully aware of the challenge her team faces this afternoon in the 2016 Women’s African Cup of Nations final against Cameroon. The Super Falcons, aiming to defend their title, know that the Indomitable Lionesses are among the strongest sides in the tournament.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Ebi stressed the importance of approaching each game individually while remaining focused on the ultimate goal. “We approach each match as it comes. Cameroon has one of the best teams in the tournament. Every time we play against them, it becomes more and more difficult,” she said.

Despite recognizing Cameroon’s quality, the Nigerian defender is confident in her team’s ability to rise to the occasion. “Saturday will be the case again. What do I wish for us? The title, of course,” Ebi added.

The Super Falcons, seasoned and determined, will look to leverage their experience and attacking prowess to overcome a resolute Cameroonian side. With the trophy at stake, both teams are expected to deliver a highly competitive and intense final before the home crowd in Yaoundé.
