CAF Confederation Cup: RS Berkane thrash Constantine 4-0 to claim huge semi-final first leg advantage
RS Berkane put CS Constantine to the sword on Sunday night, thrashing the side 4-0 in their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg clash.
The two clubs have enjoyed impressive campaigns in this year’s CAF inter-club competition and are determined to advance to the final for a chance to clinch the ultimate prize.
In the first leg of the semi-final tie today, both teams set up strong in hopes of securing an advantage at the end of the contest before the reverse fixture next weekend.
Despite the efforts of CS Constantine, the team fell short and suffered a heavy defeat to the host.
RS Berkane didn’t waste any time from the blast of the whistle and scored in the first minute of the first half through a strike from Youssef Mehri.
Later in the 21st minute, Paul Bassene equalized to double the lead for the home team, giving the side a comfortable lead to take into the halftime break.
After recess, a sensational brace from Ousamma Lamlioui sealed the massive 4-0 victory for RS Berkane, earning the side a huge first leg advantage before the second leg match next weekend.
While it appears all over for CS Constantine, it is up to the team to pull the rabbit out of the hat in the reverse fixture to get the chance to play in the final.
