African Beach Soccer Championship: Ghana, Egypt, and Madagascar Join Final Tournament Line-Up
The qualification race for the African Beach Soccer Championship intensified over the weekend as three more nations secured their place in the final tournament, joining hosts Seychelles and Nigeria, who had already qualified.
Ghana, Egypt, and Madagascar Seal Their Spots

Ghana delivered a dominant display to eliminate Uganda, winning the second leg 12–2 after a 9–6 victory in the first leg. The aggregate scoreline of 21–8 underlined the Ghanaians’ attacking firepower and confirmed their spot in the final eight.

Egypt made light work of Tanzania, repeating their strong first-leg performance (6–2) with an emphatic 9–4 win in the return match. The Pharaohs, perennial contenders in beach soccer, move forward with an aggregate score of 15–6.

Madagascar also advanced in convincing fashion, playing both legs of their qualifier against an undisclosed opponent in Durban, South Africa. They recorded back-to-back wins, 5–1 and 4–2, to earn their place in the finals.
Nigeria Advance Without Kicking a Ball
Nigeria secured their qualification by default following Libya’s withdrawal from the competition. The Sand Eagles, past champions in the discipline, are expected to be among the favourites when the tournament begins.
Seychelles Host April Showpiece
With the final tournament set for April 14–19 in Seychelles, five of the eight places have now been filled:

Remaining Qualifiers Still to Be Decided
The final three spots will be determined in the coming days, with several key fixtures still to be played:

Ivory Coast hold a commanding advantage after a 6–2 away win over Mauritius, with the return leg scheduled for March 23.

Morocco and Djibouti will play a single-leg qualifier in Morocco on March 29.

Senegal vs Mali will also take place on March 29, with the Lions of Teranga looking to maintain their strong beach soccer tradition.
Once completed, the qualifiers will form the full list of eight teams set to compete for African beach soccer supremacy, with top sides also eyeing qualification for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
