Ademola Lookman trains in Portugal amid transfer dispute with Atalanta

Atalanta manager Ivan Juric is unsure about the future of Nigeria international Ademola Lookman at the club, saying his situation is annoying.

The attacker was keen to leave for a new challenge during the summer transfer window, but the move fell through. Lookman has since not made an appearance for the Serie A outfit this season after three matches.

In high-stake clash on Wednesday, Paris Saint Germain will play host to the Italian club in France, with Juric dropping  the Nigeria international from the matchday squad.

Quizzed about the possibility of Lookman featuring against PSG, Juric replied: “I don’t think so. It’s an annoying situation, not really good.”

“He’s given a lot to Atalanta, but the club has given him a lot too. We need players who are ready and want to be here, who care about the club and want to improve. We’ll see what happens in the future” he said.

Lookman was an integral member of Atalanta until the summer crisis, where the Nigeria star insisted on a move.

He was the hero for Atalanta two seasons ago, bagging a hat-trick to propel the club to the Europa League success over Bayer Leverkusen.
