AC Milan set to move for Joshua Zirkzee after struggles at Manchester United

Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma have withdrawn their interest in signing Dutch striker of Nigerian descent, Joshua Zirkzee.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma took a step back from the chase despite recent reports linking them with the Manchester United forward. The Serie A side had explored the possibility of bringing Zirkzee to Italy, but negotiations quickly reached a dead end.

Manchester United are insisting on a permanent transfer, a financial commitment that Roma are unable to meet.

Meanwhile, Zirkzee continues to strengthen his position at Old Trafford. His standout display against Crystal Palace highlighted his rising influence, and with Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo set to go away on Africa Cup of Nations duty, his responsibilities in the team are expected to increase even further.

After the victory over Palace, Zirkzee opened up about the demands of playing for a club the size of Manchester United.

He said, “It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and you have to give your all, so if you don’t score for a long time, the situation can get worse.
