Algeria end November international break with 2-0 victory over Saudi Arabia

Algeria showed class on Tuesday evening, beating Saudi Arabia 2-0 in their final friendly match in the November international break.

After a tight contest for much of the match, the breakthrough finally arrived in the 75th minute. Captain Riyad Mahrez stepped up to convert a penalty after Hadj Moussa produced a brilliant solo run and was brought down inside the box.

Just ten minutes later, Algeria doubled their lead, with Hadj Moussa once again at the heart of the move. His driving run into the Saudi penalty area caused chaos, and although the initial clearance kept him from getting a shot away, the ball fell kindly to Rafik Beghali. The right-back made no mistake, firing home to register his first-ever goal for the national team.

The win caps off a solid international break for the Fennecs, who showed composure, creativity, and growing confidence ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.

Algeria will now break camp and regroup in December for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off in Morocco on December 21.
