Nigeria star Joe Aribo linked with Rangers return

Nigeria international Joe Aribo has been linked with a stunning return to Rangers ahead of the January transfer window.

Aribo, who joined the Saints from Rangers in 2022, has struggled to secure consistent playing time this season, with the Nigeria international making only seven appearances as a substitute in the club’s first 20 league games.

Having fallen down the pecking at the Championship outfit, Southampton are said to be ready to transfer the midfielder in the January window for a fee around €1.5 million.

And according to reports, Rangers are considering a January move to bring the midfielder back to Ibrox as they aim to strengthen their squad.

His potential move could mark his return to Rangers, three years after exiting the club to the former Premier League club.

Meanwhile, interest from abroad is also growing, with Göztepe and Trabzonspor from the Turkish Super Lig reportedly keeping tabs on his availability.

Since joining Southampton, the midfielder has made 111 appearances, scoring 9 goals and delivering an assist across the period.
