Senegalese forward Pape Habib Gueye inspires Kasimpaşa comeback to end winless run
Kasimpaşa brought an end to their extended slump with a hard-fought 2–1 victory away to Alanyaspor, lifted by a decisive second-half brace from Pape Habib Gueye.
The Istanbul side arrived at the Bahçeşehir Okulları Stadium desperate to reverse a poor run that had stretched for nearly two months.
Six matches without a win in all competitions — including three consecutive league defeats — had left confidence fragile and pressure mounting.
Their task became even more challenging when Alanyaspor struck first on the stroke of halftime.
Ui-Jo Hwang placed the hosts in front in the second minute of stoppage time, capitalising on a brief lapse in Kasimpaşa’s defensive shape.
But the visitors responded with remarkable urgency after the interval. Gueye, who had been one of the few consistent threats during Kasimpaşa’s difficult spell, delivered a performance that completely altered the momentum of the contest.
The Senegalese forward equalised in the 48th minute, pouncing decisively to bring his side level.
Barely four minutes later, he struck again, completing a rapid turnaround that stunned the home supporters and shifted control firmly in Kasimpaşa’s favour.
His two goals not only reversed the result but served as a reminder of his growing influence this season.
Alanyaspor attempted to regroup but struggled to restore the fluency they had shown earlier.
Kasimpaşa, revived by their regained lead, managed the game with greater discipline, limiting the hosts to half-chances while seeking opportunities to extend their advantage on the counterattack.
Gueye’s brace takes his tally for the campaign to five goals, underlining his importance to Shota Aveladze’s plans as the season progresses.

For Kasimpaşa, the victory brings a measure of relief and lifts them away from the lower reaches of the table, offering renewed belief after a worrying sequence of results.
Alanyaspor, meanwhile, will reflect on a missed opportunity after controlling key periods of the first half.
Their inability to withstand Kasimpaşa’s early second-half surge proved costly, leaving them unable to build on Hwang’s well-taken opener.
With this result, Kasimpaşa move up to 13th place, hoping the breakthrough marks the beginning of a more stable run.
For Gueye, the afternoon stands as one of his most influential performances since joining the club, turning a match — and potentially a season’s narrative — in his team’s favour.
