Algeria: Paradou AC  climb the table as MC Oran lose ground in tight Ligue 1 battle

Paradou AC earned a crucial victory while MC Oran were forced to settle for a stalemate as two fixtures closed out matchday twelve of the Algerian Ligue 1 on Thursday, 20 November 2025.

Paradou seized control of their home encounter against MC El Bayadh with an energetic start that immediately stretched both goalkeepers.

After a series of early exchanges, the breakthrough arrived in the 25th minute when Ahmed Lahmer struck to give the hosts a deserved lead.

Despite several attempts to respond, MC El Bayadh failed to convert their chances, allowing Paradou to carry a 1–0 advantage into the interval.

The momentum remained firmly with Paradou after the restart.

Barely two minutes into the second half, Mohamed El Amine Ramdaoui doubled the score, tightening the home side’s grip on the match.

What followed was a far more physical contest, with challenges intensifying as MC El Bayadh pushed forward in search of a way back.

Paradou’s defensive organisation proved decisive, absorbing pressure and preventing their opponents from finding a foothold.

The 2–0 scoreline held to the final whistle.

The result lifts Paradou from 14th to 12th on the league ladder, now sitting on 13 points.

For MC El Bayadh, the defeat prolongs a difficult campaign, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table with just three points.

Elsewhere, MC Oran were frustrated in a tight contest against ES Sétif that produced few clear-cut openings.

The first half featured promising spells for both sides but neither managed to break through organised and disciplined defensive lines.

The goalless deadlock at halftime reflected a balanced encounter in which attacking intent was repeatedly stifled.

The pattern continued after the break. Although MC Oran looked to assert themselves and ES Sétif attempted to counter with pace, both defences held firm.

A lack of precision in the final third made the difference, and neither team found a decisive moment before the final whistle confirmed a 0–0 draw.

The point keeps MC Oran in second place on 21 points, maintaining their position near the top but missing an opportunity to apply further pressure on the league leaders.

ES Sétif, meanwhile, slip one spot down the table to 13th with 12 points, still searching for consistency as the season progresses.
