Senegalese international Alassane Ndao’s representatives dismiss betting allegations as “impossible” amid Turkish scandal

The entourage of Senegalese international Alassane Ndao has strongly denied reports linking the Konyaspor winger to a widespread sports betting investigation shaking Turkish football.

Turkish media outlets reported that 24 Super Lig players, including Ndao, were among more than 1,000 footballers referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee (PFDK) as part of an inquiry into alleged match-fixing and illegal betting activities.

The ongoing investigation has already led to several suspensions involving both referees and players.

Ndao, who joined Konyaspor after spells with Fatih Karagümrük and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli, was reportedly named in documents submitted to the Turkish authorities.

However, his representatives have firmly dismissed the claims as baseless.

Speaking to Wiwsport, a member of Ndao’s camp stressed that the Senegalese winger is not under any form of restriction and remains fully available to train and play for his club.

“Indeed, Alassane Ndao’s name has been mentioned in this affair, but we can assure you that it’s all nonsense. Alassane never intended to play this game,” the player’s advisor stated.

The representative went on to question the credibility of the allegations, arguing that Ndao could not have participated in betting activities under Turkish law.

“Moreover, this is not possible because to bet you must first have a Turkish passport. Something that Alassane Ndao does not have. Better still, his club (Konyaspor) is even working with the Turkish Football Federation to establish the truth in this matter,” he added.

The Senegalese international, capped several times by his country, is said to be the only foreign player among the 1,024 footballers reported to the PFDK.

His representatives insist that the investigation will ultimately clear his name, maintaining that Ndao has no connection whatsoever to the scandal that has gripped the Turkish Super Lig in recent weeks.

The betting controversy has sent shockwaves through Turkish football, with growing calls for transparency and accountability from the Turkish Football Federation.

While the investigation continues, Ndao’s camp remains confident that his reputation will remain intact once the facts are clarified.

For now, Alassane Ndao continues his duties with Konyaspor as his team awaits further updates from the federation — determined, as his entourage put it, to let the truth speak for itself.
