Bayern Munich planning defensive reshuffle amid uncertainty over Dayot Upamecano’s future

Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing for potential changes in their defensive lineup next season as uncertainty grows around the future of French centre-back of Guinean descent, Dayot Upamecano.

According to SportBild, the German champions are already in contact with several potential replacements and are keen to make early moves rather than wait until the summer.

One of the key names under consideration is Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté, whose contract expires next year. Bayern have reportedly reached out to the French defender’s representatives as part of their preliminary talks.

Konaté, who previously played alongside Upamecano at RB Leipzig, is also said to be on the radar of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. However, his Bundesliga experience and potential free-agent status make him an appealing option for Bayern.

In addition to Konaté, the Bavarians have also begun discussions with Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who has impressed in the Premier League and is viewed as another strong candidate to bolster Bayern’s backline.
