Morocco’s young sensation Yassine Jassim steals the show at U-20 World Cup

Spanish sports daily Marca devoted a feature to Moroccan football prodigy Yassine Jassim after his electrifying performances at the U20 World Cup in Chile.

The Dunkerque winger took the spotlight, helping the Atlas Cubs secure historic wins against Spain and Brazil, both of which propelled Morocco to the tournament’s knockout stage as Group C leaders.

Marca praised Morocco’s dream start, highlighting their 2-0 win over Spain, where Jassim provided an assist and scored the second goal, celebrating with the famous Hakimi “penguin dance”, and their 2-1 victory against Brazil, with Jassim again offering decisive passes. The youngster’s contribution to all four Moroccan goals, including three assists and a goal, has put him firmly at the center of coach Mohamed Wahby’s plans.

Jassim’s rapidly rising star isn’t limited to national team exploits. Last season with Dunkerque, he led stunning cup upsets and showed off his lethal dribbling and team-first mentality, winning best player awards against both Spain and Brazil, and drawing praise for his confidence and ambition. European clubs are already circling, and Dunkerque admits keeping him will be tough if he keeps dazzling on the world stage.
