The head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Otto Addo, has set his sights on victory against Mali on Monday in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Sunday, Coach Addo bemoaned the draw against Chad last Thursday, but stressed that nothing has changed in his team’s pursuit to qualify for the World Cup.
He is confident that Ghana can secure a win against Mali in their next game to maintain their lead at the top of the Group I standings.
“The positive truth is that nothing has changed. We were three points ahead of the second. This was the start of the score. I know Comoros is playing at the moment, so they are leading, so it’s getting closer. For us, nothing has changed.
“We wanted to beat Chad, but it didn’t happen. But we are looking to do that against Mali tomorrow. The only positive thing is that we still have it in our own hands. We still can decide our own destiny. We will put everything in this game tomorrow to win this game,” Coach Otto Addo said.
The crucial Group I contest between Ghana and Mali is scheduled to kick off at 7 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium.
