Al Ahly have submitted a $2 million offer to RS Berkane for Moroccan forward Oussama Lamlioui.

The Cairo club, determined to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season, are pushing to conclude negotiations swiftly.

Lamlioui has emerged as one of Africa’s standout strikers in recent months, particularly following his performances at the African Nations Championship (CHAN), where he helped Morocco reach the semi-finals.

The 29-year-old played a pivotal role in the competition, finishing as the provisional top scorer with four goals.

His form has made him one of the most sought-after talents on the continent, catching the attention of several clubs, with Al Ahly among the most serious suitors.

Valued at around €700,000 by Transfermarkt, Lamlioui began his career at TAS Casablanca before moving on to Chabab Mohammedia.

He later joined RS Berkane, where he has been a central figure for the past two seasons.

With the Moroccan side, he has already collected major honours, including the Coupe du Trône, the Botola Pro, and most recently, the CAF Confederation Cup — achievements that have significantly elevated his profile.

Al Ahly’s interest reflects their strategy of recruiting players with proven pedigree in African competitions.

The Egyptian giants, the most decorated club on the continent, believe Lamlioui could provide the cutting edge needed to compete both domestically and in the CAF Champions League.

However, Al Ahly are not alone in pursuing the striker.

It is spreviously reported that a Saudi club has also been monitoring Lamlioui’s situation.

This potential competition is understood to be motivating the Egyptian champions to accelerate their talks with Berkane in an attempt to finalise the transfer before other bidders move in.

RS Berkane, for their part, are yet to give a definitive response to Al Ahly’s proposal.

The Moroccan club are carefully weighing the offer, knowing Lamlioui has been a key figure in their recent success.

Whether they opt to cash in on their striker or retain him for another season could depend on both financial considerations and the player’s own ambitions.

For now, Lamlioui’s future remains uncertain, but the coming days could prove decisive.

Should Berkane accept Al Ahly’s bid, the forward would be set to join one of Africa’s most illustrious teams, marking the next chapter in what has already been a remarkable career trajectory.
