AS Nancy-Lorraine have confirmed the signing of Ivorian striker Patrick Ouotro on a four-year contract, securing the 19-year-old talent until 2029.

Ouotro, who arrives from Racing Club de Strasbourg, has been regarded as one of the most promising young forwards emerging from West Africa in recent years. His move to Nancy was officially announced on Wednesday, July 16, through the club’s various communication platforms.

The signing marks a key addition to Nancy’s squad ahead of their return to Ligue 2 following a successful promotion campaign from the Championnat National.

The young forward began attracting attention during his time with LYS Sassandra in Côte d’Ivoire, where he was named Best Young Player before making the switch to France in January 2024. Upon joining Strasbourg, Ouotro initially featured for the reserve team competing in National 3, where he made 10 appearances and netted twice. His performances earned him a brief opportunity with Strasbourg’s senior squad, culminating in a single Ligue 1 appearance.

In pursuit of more first-team experience, Ouotro spent the first half of the 2024–25 season on loan at FC Martigues, competing in Ligue 2. He featured 15 times and found the net once during his stint. Later in the campaign, he joined Belgian side RFC Seraing in the Challenger Pro League.

Despite the club’s inconsistent season, Ouotro impressed with three goals and an assist in just eight appearances, showcasing his instinctive positioning and technical ability in the final third.

Nancy’s management view Ouotro as a long-term investment and a key piece in the club’s strategy to consolidate their place in Ligue 2. The Chardons are aiming to build momentum following their return to the second tier and see the Ivorian’s arrival as a step toward assembling a youthful and competitive squad.

Ouotro, known for his agility, intelligent movement, and eye for goal, is expected to play a pivotal role in the upcoming campaign. The club believes the environment in Nancy—where development and game time are prioritized—will provide the ideal platform for the teenager to continue his rise in European football.

With a current estimated market value of €300,000, according to Transfermarkt, the forward represents a smart and calculated acquisition for Nancy.

The club’s technical staff is optimistic that his value will grow significantly over the next few seasons, should he continue to progress at the current rate.

Having now experienced football across three different leagues in two countries before the age of 20, Ouotro brings with him not only raw potential but also a growing sense of maturity.

Nancy supporters will be eager to see how quickly he adapts to his new surroundings and what impact he can make as the club prepares for a challenging yet hopeful return to Ligue 2.

Ouotro joins a squad that has been carefully reshaped over the summer to reflect both ambition and realism, and he is expected to be integrated into first-team preparations immediately ahead of the new season.
