Italy-born teenager of Nigerian descent, Honest Ahanor, has completed his transfer to Italian Serie A side Atalanta BC.

The club announced the acquisition of the defender in an official statement on Friday, July 4.

“After those of Kossounou and Kamaldeen Sulemana, Atalanta BC is pleased to announce the third permanent purchase at the start of the current summer transfer window.

“The Nerazzurri Club has in fact acquired from Genoa CFC the rights to the sports performances of the player Honest Ovonranwen Ahanor, a 17-year-old left-footed player who last season became the first player born in 2008 to be a starter in Serie A,” Atalanta BC announced.

The club statement continued, “The Percassi family, the Pagliuca family and the entire Nerazzurri Club extend a warm welcome to Honest, wishing him the best satisfactions – personal and team – in the Nerazzurri shirt.”

Honest Ahanor’s move to Atalanta BC is seen as a good move that will help him continue his development.

He must work hard in pre-season to merit a place in the first team before the start of the 2025/26 football season.
